I have been contemplating what to share on my blog for this new year, then an experience I had this morning made up my mind for me. It is kind of a personal experience and I hope some of you will at least be able to relate and comprehend.
I go to my massage therapist, Janeal, once a month ( more if I over-do at tennis ). She has made me a true believer, not only in the importance of touch and massage and working out tense muscles, but in what is called "energy work". Now don't get weirded out, but she has helped me experience the body's energy flows, or "chi" as they call it in Asia. They can get blocked up with stress and illness and other things and your body just doesn't feel right. I believe that not all therapists are spiritually in touch enough to have this gift and ability to get your energies flowing again, but Janeal does. Today was one of those perfect Zen like days when for whatever reasons our energy and spirits connected in a way I have never felt before. It was as if there was an open conduit between us and our energies were flowing back and forth between us and I felt a peace come over me and it was almost an out-of-body experience.
I have to interject here, that lately I have felt particularly close to my husband, Gary, and we have felt a special connectedness with one another.
At the end of the massage, Janeal patted me on the shoulder and said, " There you go, Marygirl". Janeal then thought to herself, "Why on earth did I say that? Why did I call her Marygirl?" After getting dressed I walked into Janeal's office area and told her that she must truly have been in-synch with me today because the only person who calls me Marygirl is Gary. Call it Kismet, Serendipidy, whatever you like-- it was a special experience for me and what a way to initiate my new year of 2011.
I love that. thanks for sharing. My oldest daughter is what I would compare to a " flower child" from our time period. She is kind of irresponsible, goes with the flow but everyone likes to be around her happy spirit. She is pretty good at giving massages but says she wouldn't like doing it as a job. She is very sensitive about being around negative energy (which can often be me) When I'm in good physical shape and spiritual shape I have more "enerygy" to radiate towards others. a funny side note: I must be a "jumper cable angel" I seem to be there when people need their cars started !
